Good Afternoon Parents!!
What a fun, busy week it has been! I have many updates and much  information to share with you all <3
Progress Reports go out today!! Please contact me with questions.  As you know, these grades are NOT FINAL! Many of the grades have changed since report cards: content difficulty levels have  increased. The students will have plenty of time to improve grades.  As always, please let me know if you have questions. I am confident students can succeed if they put their mind to it and I am here to facilitate their learning/growth.
Today, students will have a SCIENCE PROJECT sheet in their Friday Folders. The project will be due the last Thursday  before break (12/14). Students will be making models (the sheet provides more details). As I know this is a busy time of year, please let me know if you have questions or concerns.  Miss Sorley and myself  know the project will be a fun, memorable experience for kids.
There will be an open-book test on Monday in Social Studies over the Middle Ages. Their test will include page numbers and will cover what we have covered in class. I would like to see what they have retained and how they are able to draw information out of the text (which we have already read together/discussed). It will be a great way for students to show what they know!
Homework next week will be a little different as we have the Christmas Program and Science Project. Students will have 3 Math Pages,a new reading sheet, studying for a Bible Test, and the Science Project. There will be no Spelling or Bible Memory. The new reading sheet is a “book overview” for  students to  complete for a book they are currently. It asks author’s purpose, the point of view, setting, “wonderlings” (thoughts on the story) and characters.  The students will have to determine 5 vocabulary words. While challenging, this will be a little less time consuming than the Reading Log for this busy week!! I will give students all Math homework on Monday so they are able to complete at their own pace.
MONDAY is Christmas Program rehearsal. STUDENTS WILL NEED A SACK LUNCH!!!!
Wednesday is a HALF DAY (12:30) and the Christmas Program!!! Dress code is “dressy!” Students have worked SOOO HARD and will do FANTASTIC!!!
Thursday, we will participate in the international Hour of Code!
Friday will be the SAMUEL Bible test.
We will continue with long division, Samuel, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, and begin our study of the Human Body. Much of our work will be project based and cumulative :)
Friday, December 12th will be our ½ day and Christmas Celebration.  We will be playing games, making crafts, watching The Best Christmas Pageant Ever! I will provide pizza for the class, as there will be **NO SCHOOL LUNCH** It would be wonderful if we could have parents donate fruit, veggies, paperproducts, and waters or juices.

THANK YOU PARENTS!!!

Mrs. Daniel
